[caption id="attachment_168779" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="Takei Emi (r.) as a guest on "Tunnels no Minasan""][/caption] The majority of dramas are coming to an end with the beginning of July and the two Monday dramas are no exception. "Hancho 4" pulled off a nice finale with 13.2%, the best rating for the drama this season, and this means a season-average of 11.7%. Fuji TV's 'Getsu 9' drama "Shiawase ni Narou yo" only

  • Drama Prime Time Report – June 6th~9th

    June 10, 2011 @ 4:15 pm

[caption id="attachment_159524" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="Taira Airi on "Hancho 4" (TBS)"][/caption] This week it seems there was a swap from last week ratings for the Monday dramas "Hancho 4" and "Shiawase ni Narou yo," with the former up at 12% and the latter down at 11% again. On Tuesday, "Namae wo Nakushita Megami" wasn't able to stay above the 13% mark for another week, but the viewer ratings are still several

  • Drama Prime Time Report – May 23rd~26th

    May 29, 2011 @ 6:04 am

"Shiawase ni Narou yo" recovered on Monday and Fuji TV probably hopes that last week's rating in the single-digits will end up as an accident. On Tuesday, "Namae wo Nakushita Megami" accomplished its season-best with 12.0%, while "Madonna Verde" came to an end with a rating finally above the 10% mark after its final sprint. Wednesday had "Iryu Sousa" repeating its score from last week, whereas the viewers of "Rebound" continue to reenac

  • Drama Prime Time Report – May 16th~May 19th

    May 20, 2011 @ 7:00 pm

A mixed first half of the week with "Shiawase ni Narou yo" dropping below the 10% mark, making it only the second drama with single-digit ratings in the long history of Fuji TV Monday dramas, and "Madonna Verde" shying below the 10% mark one week prior to its finale. "Hancho 4" and "Rebound" also had difficulties this week, while the rest of the dramas have been rather constant with their ratings. "BOSS 2" managed to stop the typical downt

[caption id="attachment_151331" align="aligncenter" width="600" caption="Ishikawa Rika in "Tsuri Deka 2""][/caption] Lot's of green icons this week, as most programs are recovering from the "Golden Week Effect," including the dramas. "Hancho 4" and "Shiawase ni Narou yo" were both able to improve a lot this Monday. Especially the latter can be happy that it successfully managed to escape the single digit ratings, and the former al

  • Drama Prime Time Report – May 2nd~May 5th

    May 6, 2011 @ 11:13 pm

Don't be surprised to see a lot of red icons in this report. The Golden Week holidays are heavily influencing the ratings, especially dramas. After all, they rely on viewers to tune in every week and so they suffered from people going on vacation. - On Monday, "Shiawase ni Narou yo" lost 2.1% and almost opened the door down to the single-digit ratings, which would be a big disaster for any Monday-Fuji TV drama. The only Monday drama tha

  • Drama Prime Time Report – April 25th~27th

    April 30, 2011 @ 7:57 pm

Last week I praised "Shiawase ni Narou yo" for having one of the highest rated premieres due to a widely appealing cast compared to recent Monday dramas, but what is this? A second episode with a loss of 4.5%? It looks like people were really only just intrigued by the cast and hoped for a new and fresh story, but were quite disappointed by the first episode. Will Fuji TV's Monday time slot ever live up to the expectations of being the most pre
