On December 29th, rock band SHAKALABBITS appeared on an annual music festival ‘COUNTDOWN JAPAN 11/12’ and marking their first performance with new member and bassist YOSUKE, who is also the younger brother of their guitarist TAKE-C.

YOSUKE will be replacing the former founding member KING who left the band on November 20th after their performance at Utsunomiya University. KING was this band’s bassist for 13 years and YOSUKE will take the new torch with this upcoming activities with this band.

Punk-ska band SHAKALABBITS has announced that their bassist KING has left the band.

KING held his last performance with the band on November 20th at Utsunomiya University’s school festival. He revealed that he has lost his passion for music, and explained, “The reason is, I couldn’t face music because of my cowardice. My feelings for improvement have distanced themselves from music and bass. It’s a pitiful story, but I felt that I’ve reached my limit.“

Hereafter, SHAKALABBITS will recruit a new bassist, and will continue their activities as a band.

The single is the band’s first single in over a year, and is described as an upbeat tune that’s sure to get the crowd worked up at their live performances. Along with its coupling track “Blue Flamingo“, the single is said to have a raw sound that will remind listeners of a rough recording. “mademoiselle non non” will make its way to stores on August 24th.

Those who purchase the single will also receive a DVD containing the music video for “mademoiselle non non”, as well as a making-of clip.

The artist lineup and schedule was recently announced for the second year of the open-air festival “MONSTER baSH 2011″, which will be held at Kokuei Sanuki Mannou Kouen Uchishibafu Hiroba in Kagawa from August 20th to the 21st.

The artists being announced this time include back number, Clammbon, Cocco, Hata Motohiro, and Sambomaster performing on the 20th, and ACIDMAN, FACT, KREVA, Negoto, Nothing’s Carved In Stone, MAXIMUM THE HORMONE, MONOBRIGHT, Perfume, and Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra on the 21st, for a total of 14 acts. It has also been revealed that there will be 13 artists appearing on the 20th and 12 artists appearing on the 21st.

More artists will be announced when they’re confirmed. Tickets will be available to the general public beginning on June 4th.

Ska band SHAKALABBITS has just announced that they will be simultaneously releasing two new live DVDs in July!

The first of these releases is called “2010nen Sarape no BUS TOUR”, and features footage from the band’s nationwide tour of the same name. The second is “Mitsurin Jungle Gym TOUR 2010-2011″, which will include the final stop of their most recent five-month tour.

A special video of SHAKALABBITS’ performance at MONSTER TREE has already been uploaded onto their official YouTube channel, so check out the video below!

We previously mentioned the original line-up and first additions for “GO! FES” and the last additions have just been announced.

WEAVER will be performing on the first day and OGRE YOU ASSHOLE will be performing on the second day. With that, that makes eight groups performing each day and sixteen in total.

General admission tickets are going on sale February 26th.

KING, bassist of pop-rock band SHAKALABBITS has a case of tonsillitis and the band has cancelled their show in Nagano. He currently has a high fever from the virus and the band is expected to continue their tour next week on 6/24 in Aomori.

Since last year, many artists have been getting seriously ill and cancelling their tours. I hope he gets better fast. I think these people need to take care of themselves more.
