X Japan finally arrives in the U.S.

allkpop

Finally after a whole decade (plus of an era), legendary Japanese rock band X Japan finally debuts in the U.S. for their first concert.

There were talks about them attending Lollapalooza Festival previously. It is now confirmed that the band will make its debut on 6/8 on the main stage of the festival. They will share the stage with international artists like Lady Gaga, Green Day, Soundgarden, MGMT, and The Strokes. The festival is in Chicago, IL at Grant Park on August 6-8, 2010.

If that isnt enough to get you going, members YOSHIKI and SUGIZO will be making a special appearance at Otakon in Baltimore, MD from July 30-August 1, 2010. Theyll participate in a Q&A session and as a special treat for their fans, they will perform a brief, intimate, acoustic set.

The last time the band did any type of performance in the states, was when they filmed their PV on top of the Hollywood Kodak Theatre earlier this January. Some 8,000 fans showed for the filming to support the band.

The members of X Japan - Yoshiki, Toshi (vocals), Pata (guitarist), Heath(bass), and Sugizo (guitar) - have been spending time in Yoshiki's LosAngeles recording studio working on what will be the band's U.S. debut, and
its first album sung in English. "We decided to record English lyrics forfour or five of our most popular, previously released songs," Yoshikiexplained, "and then write an additional four or five brand new songs, also
sung in English. We have worked very hard on this album, and are veryexcited to present our music to the American rock fans
."
Immediately following their August Lollapalooza set, X Japan will fly back
to Tokyo where they will play their biggest concert ever - headlining two
nights at the Nissan Stadium, performing to nearly 150,000 fans.

For those of you who are not familiar with SUGIZO, he was also the guitarist for another badass band, LUNA SEA. Who were also under YOSHIKI's label back in 1992.
