It has been announced that rock band MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS will lose their guitarist,Ishimoto Chiemi, after the last stop of their national tour on December 11th at CLUB QUATTRO.
MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS was formed in 2004 by lead vocalist and bassist,Miyamoto Natsuko and Ishimoto Chiemi, who has been the guitarist for the past six years. The reason for Ishimoto's withdrawal is a medical panic disorder, one that the guitarist hopes to cure with treatment.
Ishimoto commented, "my personal health was a burden to the members and staff. I always had this anxiety. This was a part of what caused my fits. I felt I had just become a burden."
After discussing the health issues with the other members, they decided there was also a division in their musicianship. For activities of the band from here on out, Ishimoto will be officially retired.
Regarding Ishimoto's retirement, both Miyamoto and drummer Tsutomu released a comment. Miyamoto said, "For the three of us, we have to be healthy every day. We are constantly making music because we love it. We had lots and lots of meetings and this is the answer." Tsutomu commented, "Right now, all I can say is that I love music and I want to continue doing music. We will complete our soon to start tour all the way through December! Just like that!"
The final concert tour with Ishimoto starts on October 29th in Kobe. Ishimoto's last performances will be held at the Shibuya CLUB QUATTRO in December.
