Electro synthpop group Aural Vampire just recently started their North American tour with The Birthday Massacre, Black Veil Brides, and Dommin. tokyohive was at the House of Blues in Anaheim on Sunday night, November 14th, covering the show.

Aural Vampire, a duo composed of EXO-CHIKA and Masked Raveman, �kicked the night off with �Cannibal Coast,� a familiar yet mysterious synth track. �They quickly followed up with �Darkwave Surfer,� another synth-heavy autotuned track with a hint of a Super Eurobeat sampling.



The duo introduced themselves to the crowd and traded a bracelet with an audience member, probably a ritual that will continue throughout the tour. �They then restarted the show with �ZombiNation,� and kept the energy up with �Freeeeze!!� and �Murealism.� They capped the set off with �Kumonoito.�



Dommin, an alternative band from Los Angeles, took the stage right after, winning the crowd over with the chance to be seen in their upcoming music video for their track, �Closure.� �Co-headliner Black Veil Brides immediately followed. �You could describe them as a metal/gothic modern version of KISS with a contemptuous attitude towards their fans on stage, but built their fanbase by connecting through meet and greets. �Finally, co-headliner The Birthday Massacre, a six-member gothic synthrock band out of Toronto, capped off the night. Kicking it off with �In The Dark�, their stage presence and eclectic facials made this group entertaining to watch.



As my first introduction to all of these bands, while not exactly my tastes, I definitely felt the energy from the crowd, which made it clear why these groups have a strong following within their respective circles. The House of Blues in Anaheim marks the third stop in this tour, and I can only expect the performances to get even better.
