On December 22 at Nippon Budokan and December 24 at Kobe Point Island Hall, a special "Macross F" Christmas concert was held by Yoko Kanno.

The event, "Yoko Kanno presents Macross F Super-Dimensional Live Merry Christmas without You" featured singers who represented the Macross F characters.

Artists that appeared were Nakajima Ai (Ranka Lee), May'n (Sheryl Nome's singing part), Nakamura Yuuichi (female alto), Endo Aya (Sheryl Nome), Toyoguchi Megumi (Clan Clang) and other Macross F members. Also present was a 23 member orchestra band that gave an excellent performance.

The stage was adorned with a dramatic theme. Some of the songs performed were "Iteza*9 P.M. Don't be late", "Lion", both from the anime, and "cosmic cunne" by May'n (from her album). Nakajima Ai performed, "Koi wa Dog Fight", "Nijiiro Kuma Kuma" and her upcoming single, "After School Overflow".

As an encore, Yoko Kanno directed the orchestra, May'n performed "Gira Gira Summer" and Nakajima Ai performed, "Seikan Hikou". The last song was "Merry Christmas withouth You" by the entire cast. The concert lasted 3 hours, in which the audience got to listen to Yoko Kanon perform a piano solo as well.

On February 26, 2011 the anime series will have it's final movie based film, "Movie version Macross F~Sayonara Notsubasa~", which will be shown nationwide. In related news, Nakajima Ai who plays "Ranka Lee" will release a new single on January 26, called, "After School Overflow".
