Japanese morning show ULALA@7 recently featured a certain YouTube sensation that is giving many Japanese citizens a reason to smile in a time of uncertainty.
20 year old Ryan, also known under the username nigahiga, recently created a video titled "Honk for Japan!", in which he pledged to donate $10 for every honk given by passing cars in Los Angeles. The YouTube star donated a total of over $600 to the Red Cross, and his video caught the attention of people overseas.
The host of the show, known as SHELLY, was impressed by the video and brought it to the attention of many viewers across Japan by airing it in a segment on March 18th. In the broadcast, she celebrates and stresses the importance of people like Ryan who are overseas but are doing their best to cheer on the Japanese people in their recovery and rebuilding efforts.
