On September 11th, talento and former AKB48 member Oshima Mai held a release event for her DVD, "Oshima Batting Center Vol.1 & Vol.2".

The variety program began airing in 2009 through CS Broadcasting, and features Oshima's "suggestion corner" as well as footage of her tackling challenges of varying difficulties. "We did it at an incredibly loose way, so I had no idea it was going to turn into something like this," she said.

Though she was astonished by how her wish for a DVD of the series came true, Oshima assertively stated, "One day, I'd like to go around the entire country of Japan on location!"

When asked about the series of suspensions and other member incidents surrounding AKB48 and their sister group NMB48, Oshima responded, "I didn't know. Since they're young, there's so many reasons. Youth is precious."

Now free of the dating ban placed on most idols, the 24-year-old ecstatically stated that she'd like to be in a relationship soon. "I've turned 24, so after this I'd like to fall in love," she said. Later on, Oshima laughed, "Recently, I've had a lot of chances to be with Isoyama Sayaka-chan (who's been looking for a guy)... I guess I'll start from there."

Since September 11th was Oshima's birthday, a surprise birthday cake was brought out to her during the event. "This is the first time I've done an event on my birthday, so I'm really happy," Oshima said, looking grateful as she spoke to the crowd. "I've decided that this year I'm going to prepare to become an adult. I want to tell you about all the thoughts I've hidden up until now.
