'KOTOKO' receives the Orizzonti prize at the Venice International Film Festival

On September 10th, it was announced that singer-songwriterCoccos starring movie 'KOTOKO' (directed by Tsukamoto Shinya) received an Orizzonti prize at the 68th Venice International Film Festival. The Venice International Film Festival is the oldest film festival in the world.

The filmtells the story of a woman who tries very hard to raise a child, but the struggle eventually destroys the balance in her life. It is said to be based onCoccosreal-life experiences. Filming for the movie was completed just one day before its showing at the film festival.

Director Tsukamoto, who received this prize, said, I want to dedicate this to Cocco, who poured all her energy for this movie. Right now, Japan is a place of sorrow and I worry about my important people who live there. So, I want to dedicate this to them as well, then gave his dedication speech to the audience.
