It's been announced that Studio Ghibli's famous works will be presented in North America!
This event will be held by GKIDS, a distributor of animation in North America, at the IFC Center in New York.�At this special screening, fifteen works of Studio Ghibli from 1984 to 2008 are scheduled to be shown. Among the fifteen are "Nausicaa Valley of the Wind", "Castle in the Sky", and "Spirited Away".
This special screening will be held from December 16th to January 12th. The films will be presented in both subtitled and English-dubbed versions. After this, the retrospective will travel to Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington DC, Toronto, Boston, San Francisco, and Seattle.
GKIDS president Eric Beckman commented,

I am in continual awe of the brilliance of the animation, the depth and humanity of the storytelling, and of the filmmakers' understanding that even the youngest audiences are capable of appreciating all the subtlety and nuance that cinema has to offer."
