On November 2nd, monthly business and finance magazine, 'Nikkei Trendy', revealed the infamous list of the 'Best 30 Consumer Hits of 2011', as well as the 'Face of the Year'.

Young actress Gouriki Ayame was chosen as the 'Face of 2011', thanks to her rapidly increasing appearances in dramas and commercials.

Gouriki commented with a big smile, "I'm still amazed myself. That's such a big honor!" Looking forward to turning twenty next year, she added, "I want to become a person who is beautiful from the inside out. Furthermore, I'd like to grow as an actress."

About the past year, she said, "Thanks to the support from the president of my agency and all the staff, I was able to participate in a lot of projects this year. This year was the first time I received so much work, making me feel more and more grateful throughout the year, without forgetting my initial resolution. It was a really fulfilling year for me."

'Nikkei Trendy' has been publishing the 'Best 30 Consumer Hits of the Year' since it's launch in 1987 and has become a great overview and barometer of the trends of the past year. Three factors determine whether a product or service makes it onto the list: 'sales', 'innovation', and 'impact'.

Aside from Gouriki, various other celebrities introduced some of the 30 consumer hits, including actress Katase Nana, producer/director Ohne Hitoshi, and AKB48's Fujie Reina.
