It's just been reported that Sawajiri Erika will finally make a comeback as an actress after four and a half years.
Back in May, Sawajiri announced that she had officially signed with Avex Entertainment, and showed her desire to return to acting with, "I will work hard in order to change my attitude and show you myself as an actress again as soon as possible." At last, her wish has been fulfilled.
After her "Betsu ni" (Not really) incident in September 2007 in which Sawajiri showed inappropriate attitude at the stage greeting for the movie "Closed Note", Sawajiri received strong bashing, quit her previous agency, and took a step back from the show biz. Since then, it's already been about four and a half years.
Sawajiri will take on two roles in the upcoming BeeTV drama, "L et M Watashi ga Anata wo Aisuru Riyuu, Sono Hoka no Monogatari".
The drama is a love story that revolves around the two very different woman named L and M (both played by Sawajiri). One is a beautiful and smart career woman who is slow in love, while the other is a pure and sweet woman who is assertive and evil towards love.
According to reports, the producers were impressed by Sawajiri's strong will to return to the screen. She insisted, "Because it's a difficult role , I want to challenge myself." And so, Sawajiri has been fully involved with the planning of the drama, offering her views on love and values to build up her character. She has also been suggesting ideas for make-up and costumes.
The drama has officially started filming on the night of November 27th. Sawajiri commented, "I've kept away from the acting business for about 4 and a half years, but I want to incorporate what I experienced and felt during that time into my acting."
