On December 29th, singer-songwriter Angela Aki - who is currently nine months pregnant with her first child - attended the rehearsal for the upcoming Kohaku Uta Gassen at the NHK Hall in Shibuya.

While caressing her pregnant belly, Angela talked about performing at the Kohaku with her unborn child. Since I'm nine months pregnant, it wasn't an easy thing for me to stand on stage at Nippon Budoukan and Kouhaku. I'm looking forward to the day I'll eventually be able to tell this child, 'We stood together on the Kouhaku stage,'" she said with an expression full of affection.

"I don't want [my child] to become a musician, because this path is so severe," said Angela of her unborn child. "For example, I'd like them to be a sushi restaurant owner or something, so I can eat sushi all the time," she joked, causing the press to laugh. When asked about whether or not she'd like to come back to Kohaku next year as a mother, Angela replied, "That would be nice. I look forward to my first stage as a mother."
