Japan's biggest Internet search portal, Yahoo! Japan, just released the final rankings of their annual 'Search Word Ranking' list.

They accumulated all search words from January 1st until October 31st and ranked the results according to various categories.

The overall ranking contains some familiar search words, such as YouTube, which has been the number one search word on Yahoo! Japan for four consecutive years. The biggest leaps were recorded by social networking sites like the popular Facebook and Ameba Pigg.

Of course the Great Tohoku Earthquake also was one of the biggest topics this year, with related words such as "Jishin" (earthquake) and "Tokyo Denryoku" (TEPCO) making it into the top fifty of the overall search word ranking.

Popular idol group AKB48 was the only artist that made it into the top twenty on the list. Arashi dropped down from 23rd to 41st, but at least they are still within the top fifty.
