On March 6th, girls unit 9nine held an event to commemorate the release of their latest album, "9nine", at Lazona Kawasaki.
The girls kicked off the event by performing "#girls" in front of 3,000 fans. As Kawashima Umika called out, "It's kind of cold today, but will you liven up for us?", the crowd burst into loud cheers.
During the middle of the event, 9nine energetically sang "Shoujo Traveler" and "Koizora" back-to-back. Then, Yoshii Kanae revealed, "On May 6th, we will hold a one-man live at Nihon Seinenkan. And starting at 9:00 pm tonight, we will be distributing a footage that shows our journey to Nihon Seinenkan on our fan site!"
9nine wrapped up the event by singing "#girls" for the second time. As they started to take their leave, a fan shined their blue penlight at Kawashima and yelled, "Happy Birthday!". Kawashima, who just turned 18 on March 3rd, expressed, "Thank you. I'm very happy! My dream as an 18-year-old is to have more people come to know 9nine, and deliver our songs to them! That is my goal as an 18-year-old!"
Before leaving the stage, the members waved to their fans and said in unison, "May 6th. We'll be waiting at Nihon Seinenkan!"
9nine will continue to hold release events in Fukuoka, Osaka, Nagoya, Saitama, and Tokyo. At each event, a '9nine flag' will be set up so fans can write messages to the members of 9nine. These flags will be presented on stage during the one-man live at Nihon Seinenkan.
