On March 16th, AKB48's Shinoda Mariko (26) attended the opening ceremony of ‘King Tut Exhibit: Golden Treasures and the Young King’s Truth’ exhibit (to officially open on April 17th) in Tempozan Tokusetsu Gallery in Osaka.
As their special supporter, Shinoda wore a golden dress to this event and explained, “I wore this gold dress because in my mind, Egypt = Gold,” and seemed quite pleased with her appearance. She also recommended that the audience see “the golden canopic jar (a jar used to store the king’s organs as a part of mummification)”.
An audience member inquired, ‘Which AKB member is most similar to King Tut?” Shinoda quickly responded, “Akimoto Sayaka. Since she is half Filipino, I think she would look best in his attires”.
The exhibition will be held in Osaka until June 3rd and will move its exhibition to Ueno’s Mori Art Museum beginning August 4th.
