On April 19th, an advanced screening for the upcoming "Black Dawn" ("Gaiji Keisatsu") was held together with the cast and the director.

"Black Dawn" follows up on the NHK drama which aired in 2009 and was the first drama to focus on the Japanese special anti-terrorism division of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. Actor Watabe Atsuro is going to reprise the leading role of the Japanese spy 'Sumimoto'.

In the movie, he has to track down terrorists that stole enriched uranium from the Korean peninsula before they can strike Japan with a possible nuclear attack. In order to do that, he has to put a mother (Maki Yoko) and her daughter in great danger.

Director Horikirizono Kentaro revealed, "When we were filming in South Korea, there was a certain person among us who was waiting for a chance to meet a certain K-Pop idol group."

The cast, including Watabe, Maki, Ono Machiko, Ishibashi Ryo, and Tanaka Min were looking at each other in order to find out who he was talking about. They soon noticed how Watabe bashfully tried to avoid eye-contact with the others. Eventually he confessed, "Well, KARA's agency was in the same neighborhood and I ended up waiting in a nearby caf for them to come out of the building."

Back on the topic, Watabe commented on the movie, "It's a serious movie with no end of problems in sight. I like such movies and I enjoyed experiencing all the troubles that people in 'foreign affairs' have to face."

Then the cast spoke about the filming and its memorable moments. Ishibashi, for example, revealed that he never was in South Korea before and enjoyed the stay in the country. Watabe obviously enjoyed it as well and said, "I went to the Seoul Tower, lined up one hour to eat myeongdong gyoza, visited the bar that Choi Ji Woo often frequents... I didn't leave out anything."

Meanwhile the director praised Tanaka. "He lost 10kg during the filming," he said. "Since I can't act, I should at least prepare my body," Tanaka replied humbly.

"Black Dawn" is going to open in cinemas nationwide on June 2nd.
