It has just been revealed that in order to help promote her new album, popular singer Amuro Namie will also be releasing an additional "PLAYBUTTON" version!
The album, still untitled, will be released in the traditional CD+DVD and CD-only version in addition to a third 'PLAYBUTTON' version. The 'PLAYBUTTON' is a music playback device that looks similar to a tin badge. Users can insert their headphones into the 'PLAYBUTTON' and listen to the tracks off her new album straight from the device. The 'PLAYBUTTON' charges using a USB cable and can play music for approximately five hours at a time.
The design is definitely a selling point of the item. The uniqueness of its tin badge design is also its functionality: the 'PLAYBUTTON' can also be worn like a normal badge, allowing fans to wear it as a fashion item on their clothes, bags, and other items and distinguishing it from other music players.
The price of the 'PLAYBUTTON' is also fairly reasonable, at just 1980 yen (approximately $24 USD). The play button includes nine songs, including her huge hits "Love Story" (the theme song for the Fuji TV drama "Watashi ga Renai Dekinai Riyuu") and "Fight Together" (the theme song for the popular anime "ONE PIECE"). Although it is not certain whether the same number of songs will be included on her upcoming 20th anniversary album, the 'PLAYBUTTON' is 1000 yen cheaper than the CD version of the album.
The 'PLAYBUTTON' is available for pre-order on mu-mo's Amuro Namie shop.
