On August 25th, Sato Takeru, other cast members (Takei Emi, Eguchi Yosuke, Aoi Yu, Aoki Munetaka, Tanaka Taketo, Kagawa Teruyuki), and the director Otomo Keishi, appeared at the stage greeting for live-action movie "Rurouni Kenshin" on its release day.
Sato, who plays the protagonist "Himura Kenshin", said to the audience, "I am truly happy and filled with deep emotion that we have reached the release day." He continued, "It's such an honor as an actor that people like my role, and there is a demand for it. If there is an opportunity (for a sequel), I would love to play the role again."
Eguchi Yosuke, who plays "Saito Hajime" the leader of the 3rd Squad of the Shinsengumi and crosses swords with Kenshin (Sato) in the movie, gave Sato a great compliment saying, "Since Takeru-kun has a great physical ability, his actions were more like that of an athlete than an actor."
Takei Emi, who plays the heroine "Kamiya Kaoru", said, "The behavior (for the role) was difficult, and it was hot wearing a Kimono. I had a hard time sleeping without getting the Kimono wrinkled during the long standby time."
“Rurouni Kenshin” is based on Watsuki Nobuhiro's famous manga, and it follows the story of ‘Himura Kenshin’ who was known and feared as the assassin “Hitokiri Battousai”; after experiencing a personal trauma, he starts a personal journey as a wanderer after the Meiji Restoration, pledging that he would do “no more killing.”
