On August 1st, an advanced screening for the upcoming movie 'Kagi Dorobou no Method' was held at the Iino Hall in Tokyo. It was attended by the starring actors Sakai Masato, Kagawa Teruyuki, Hirosue Ryoko, and Moriguchi Yoko as well as the rock musician Yoshii Kazuya along with director Uchida Kenji.

'Kagi Dorobou no Method' is a fun comedy filled with suspense that revolves around a rich business man named 'Kondo' (Kagawa) who loses his memory and an unpopular actor named 'Sakurai' (Sakai) who uses this opportunity to switch his identity with the former. However, 'Sakurai' didn't know that 'Kondo' also is a professional killer and so things become more troublesome than expected.

Hirosue is playing 'Kanae', an editor-in-chief who is currently searching for a marriage partner. She's a very punctual and way too serious woman who seems to have lost her smile. "I didn't yet notice it when reading the script, but it's actually very difficult to act without being allowed to express your emotions," Hirosue commented. "Having to work together with two actors like Sakai and Kagawa who easily make you burst into laughter, I had to be careful not to get distracted. It was a challenging experience."

Sakai responded, "We always had to redo scenes, because she looked too pretty." Uchida added, "I had to interrupt whenever she radiated her feminine charms."

Kagawa commented, "Every year I'm playing a character who's chasing after a woman played by Hirosue. I think it's the third year in a row already. However, we've never been as close as in this movie. After reading the script I thought that it's quite a fun and elaborate story, but I didn't expect it to even have some elements of a romantic movie."

Sakai joked, "Just seeing Kagawa's face when he's in love made this movie worth the effort." Kagawa proudly responded, "Even I can fall in love!"

Yoshii wrote the theme song "Tenbyo no Shikumi" for the movie. He commented, "You can feel it throughout the movie that the director loves rock music. I wish I could appear in a movie sometime as well." Uchida, who's a big fan of Yoshii, gave him his ready consent in response, which means that we might be able to see Yoshii in a movie in the near future.

'Kagi Dorobou no Method' is scheduled to open nationwide in Japan on September 15th. You can watch the trailer in a previous article.
