On November 12, informational magazine �Dime� (from Shogakukan) held their awards ceremony in Tokyo for their �Shogakukan DIME Trend Winners�. �The Dime Trend Award went to the free LINE application�from�NHN Japan; the app has�exceeded 70,000,000 users. �The Special Award went to the Tokyo Skytree, while the "Most Talked About" Award went to idol group Momoiro Clover Z; Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters manager�Kuriyama Hideki was also given the award.
Additionally, other award winners include the Shin-Tomei Expressway (NEXCO Central Nippon Expressway Company), which opened in April and links Kanagawa prefecture to Aichi prefecture over a stretch of 162 Km; Peach airlines, Japan�s first low cost airline, which opened in March; Smart Consumer Electronics (from Panasonic), which syncs with smartphones; and the iPhone5 (Apple Japan), which sold a record amount of over 5,000,000 phones in the first three days of its release.
For the 25th Dime Awards,� 12 items were selected for the three categories of �AV & IT,� �Lifestyle,� and �Leisure/Entertainment�. �The grand prize was decided after votes from readers were counted and after discussion among the panel.� The list of winners is as follows:
