Popular rock band Mr.Children's latest album "[ (an imitation) blood orange]" (released on November 28th) sold 530,000 copies in its first week and topped the Oricon weekly album chart for the week of December 10th.

This marked the 15th album by the band to top the chart, and the 12th consecutive original album to sell over 500,000 copies during the first week since "Atomic Heart" (released in September of 1994).

This year, Mr.Children released 3 albums, including 2 best-of albums "Mr.Children 2005-2010 <macro>" (sold 732,000 copies in the first week) and "Mr.Children 2001-2005 <micro>" (sold 716,000 copies in the first week), and all 3 albums sold over 500,000 copies during the first week, which is the first time for the band to achieve.

"[ (an imitation) blood orange]" consists of a total 11 songs, including their triple A-side single "Inori~Namida no Kidou/End of the day/pieces" released back in April, as well as "Joutouku", which they provided as the theme song to Ikuta Toma's ongoing drama "Osozaki no Himawari ~Boku no Jinsei, Renewal~."
