On December 5th, actress Toda Erika appeared at a preview event for her drama, 'Shotenin Michiru no Minoue Bashi', at NHK Broadcasting Center.

To prepare for her role, Toda shared that she cut her long hair to a shorter length just above her shoulders. She showed confidence in the drama, saying, "I thought I was able to try a different style of acting, so I wanted to play the lead role. I feel I was able to challenge myself to acting that didn't look like acting. I was able to see a small light. My dream came true with this work."

The drama is based on a novel by Sato Shogo called 'Minoue Banashi'. Its story revolves around a bookstore clerk named 'Michiru' (Toda) who unexpectedly wins the 200,000,000 Yen (2.5 million USD) lottery. Consequently, she starts to get involved in unpredicted betrayals and murder.

The story will be told by a man who identifies himself as Michiru's husband (Omori Nao). Kora Kengo will play�Michiru's childhood friend 'Takei', Emoto Tasuku will play�her boyfriend 'Kyutaro', Arai Tomofumi will play 'Tomoyasu', the man Michiru is having an affair with, and Ando Sakura will play�Michiru's friend and co-worker 'Hatsuyama'.

Toda, Kora, Arai, and Emoto attended the preview event for the drama. Regarding her "acting that didn't look like acting," Toda commented, "The scene where I talk to Ando-san's character Hatsuyama. I wanted to use daily expressions, so I was able to relax and express them. Even in the scenes with Arai-san, I was able to express a girl who is in love."

Toda was also asked what she would do if she really won 200,000,000 Yen. "For the time being, I will put it in my savings. I'm scared to get a hold of a large amount of money, so if possible, I don't want to win it," she responded.

'Shotenin Michiru no Minoue Banashi' will air every Tuesday at 10:55 pm starting January 8th.
