Kusanagi Tsuyoshi & Horikita Maki to co-star in stage play "A Tale of Two Cities"

SMAP's Kusanagi Tsuyoshi is starring in the stage play "A Tale of Two Cities", and Horikita Maki will be playing the heroine. This will be the first time for them to co-star with each other, and it will also be the second stage play for Horikita to appear in since her first, "Jeanne d'Arc."

"A Tales of Two Cities" is based on Charles Dickens' novel. The original story is set in London and�Paris before and during the�French Revolution,�but the stage adaptation will be set in ancient Japan and will depict a tragic love.

Kusanagi, who appears in TV programs and movies as well, said, "This is the stage play that is full of challenges for me. I will try my hardest to create the best entertainment�together with Horikita Maki-san and the other cast�members."

Horikita also commented, "This will be my second stage play. During my first one, I found the time I created with the audience in front of me attractive. In order to make the audience enjoy the play fully, there are still many problems for me to solve, but I will put my all into it to make it an unforgettable stage."

Other cast members include Ozawa Yukiyoshi (as Kusanagi's rival in love), Osugi Ren (as Horikita's father), Hashimoto Jun, Takahashi Keiko, and Minagawa Sarutoki. Theatrical company "MONO"s Tsuchida Hideo will be in charge of the script, while Itagaki Kyoichi will be directing. Also, Iwashiro Taro who has worked with Kusanagi in a drama, will handle the music.

Stage play "A Tale of Two Cities" will open at TOKYU THEATRE Orb during April 3rd ~ 30th.
