Popular artists and celebrities attend the 'MTV VMAJ 2013' ceremony

On June 22nd, the award ceremony for "MTV VMAJ 2013" (MTV Video Music Awards Japan) was held at Makuhari Messe Event Hall, where the award winners for all 16 categories, who were chosen by popular vote, were announced.

The event opened with Momoiro Clover Z's performance. Then the emcees Kaneko Nobuaki (RIZE) and Maeda Atsuko appeared, and kicked off the event.�

This year's VMAJ, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu won 2 categories, "Best Pop Video" and "Best Karaoke! Song", marking her first time winning awards at the VMAJ. ONE OK ROCK also won both "Best Rock Video" and "Best Video from a Film", and this was the second consecutive year for them to win the "Best Rock Video" category.

The "Best Video of the Year" went to EXILE TRIBE for their "24karats TRIBE OF GOLD".�

The artists who performed included�Nishino Kana, IMAGINE DRAGONS, Kato Miliyah�Shimizu Shota, BENI, Fukuhara Miho, Shonan no Kaze, VAMPS, TLC, Nicole (KARA),�Carly Rae Jepsen, and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.

During Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" performance, there was a great surprise for the audience,�for she collaborated with Momoiro Clover Z members.

In addition to the great artists line-up, there were also many celebrities in attendance at the event as the presenters to announce the winners for each category. The list included�AK-69, AMIAYA, DJ KAORI, Dream, Goriki Ayame, JOY, Kahara Tomomi, KERAKERA, Kurihara Rui, Mizuhara Kiko, Negoto, and Zeebra.
