Shiraishi Mai (20), the center of AKB48's rival group Nogizaka46 and a cast member of Fuji TV's horse racing program "Uma Zuki!" (airs Saturdays at 1:50 AM), appeared at the season opening ceremony at Tokyo Dome for the Rakuten Eagles-Nippon Ham Fighters game on July 9.
Shiraishi stood at the mound wearing a number 46 Rakuten uniform. She pitched the ball, which hit the ground and bounced a few times. Shiraishi shouted, "Ah," as she jumped up and down and then squatted.
After the ceremony, Shiraishi's eyes were red. "I was more nervous than I thought I would be standing on the mound. Yesterday's practice went well, but [it was not the case today]," and said with chagrin, "If I get the chance, I would like to have a do-over."

She also stated, "I don't know whether it will be sometime in the far future or near, but I would like to stand on the stage here (and perform live.)" Lastly, before the game began, Nogizaka46 members performed their newest song "Girls Rule." Rakuten fans cheered them on loudly.
