'Kaze Tachinu' claims its 5th consecutive victory; 'White House Down' debuts in 5th place.

The anime 'Kaze Tachinu' received some criticism for its smoking scene, but that definitely didn't hurt its popularity as it once again ranked 1st place this weekend. Moreover it's set to screen at the upcoming Venice Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival.

Meanwhile 'Monsters University' moved back up to the 2nd place and continues to attract many viewers each weekend. It has also already surpassed last year's most successful movie 'BRAVE HEARTS UMIZARU' by more than 300 million Yen. 'Monsters University' and 'Kaze Tachinu' seem to be the two must-see films of the summer in Japan this year.

In 5th place opened 'White House Down'.
