Actress Yonekura Ryoko will return as the gifted surgeon 'Daimon Michiko' who comes to work in a mini-skirt in a sequel to the hit drama 'Doctor X ~ Gekai Daimon Michiko' coming this fall.
Yonekura plays a strong freelance surgeon who is unrestricted by any medical organization and possesses brilliant perception with the skills of a veteran doctor. Along with an intense development throughout the story, the original drama achieved great ratings - up to 24.4% - for the network during the fall season of 2012. It also received several prizes such as the Hashida Sugako Award and the Mukouda Kuniko Award.
Scriptwriter Nakazono Miho and the rest of the staff from the first season have come together again to create an all-new season. The setting will be a little different, because Machiko gets to work at the main hospital of the Teito Medical University this time. This also means a lot of new characters and a much larger conflict between her liberal approach and the conservative top brass of the medial university.
Just as last year, 'Doctor X' will air every Thursday at 9:00 pm starting in October.
