It's been reported that music producer Sakuma Masahide passed away on January 15. He was 61 years old.

In April of 2013, Sakuma was diagnosed with scirrhous stomach cancer. Since then, he continued to work while receiving treatment. He had battled cancer for about 10 months, but his condition became critical on the 15th. His funeral will be held privately with close relatives as stated in his will. 

Sakuma was a member of bands Yoninbayashi and PLASTICS. As a music producer, he produced many bands, including BOOWY, GLAY, and JUDY AND MARY. He has led Japan's music scene for over 30 years. On March 5, Sakuma's compilation album "SAKUMA DROPS" will be released.
