AKB48's Jakarta-based sister group JKT48 will be holding their first general election. 

This will be the first time the general election will take place outside of Japan. Fans will pick the 16 senbatsu members who will sing their 6th single that's scheduled for release in late-May. 

JKT48 was formed in November of 2011 as AKB48's first overseas sister group. The upcoming general election will be held with current members as well as the third generation members who will be determined during the final auditions on the March 15.

Titled 'JKT48 6th Single Senbatsu Sousenkyo', the event will take place on April 26  in Jakarta. Their 5th single "Flying Get", which was released on the 5th, encloses voting tickets, and members of their fan club will also have the right to vote. Voting will take place until April 22.
