Sakamoto Miu registered her marriage on March 1st.

The singer made the announcement to her fans via Twitter. Her husband is a 32-year-old book director and editor. The two hit it off immediately after meeting in May of 2013. 

Sakamoto also wrote about her cat Sabami, "I am happy that he and Sabami can become a family. I still can't believe it. I am full of gratitude to those who have supported me until now."

Sakamoto was born to Ryuichi Sakamoto and Akiko Yano in 1980. She made her singing debut in 1997. She will release her new album "Waving Flags" on March 5th.
