This is Tokyohive's regular Drama Prime Time Report that gives you a detailed look at the prime time ratings with a focus on the weekly dramas.
Fuji TV's Monday drama 'Gokuaku Ganbo' starring Ono Machiko started with a relatively low rating of 13.6% for the time slot. The competition wasn't that strong this Monday either. 'White Lab' on TBS starring Kitamura Kazuki premiered at 8.3%.
On Tuesday, Fuji TV aired the 1st episode of 'Bitter Blood' starring Sato Takeru and the 2nd episode of 'Black President'. While the former achieved an acceptable start with a rating of 12.2%, the latter remained in the one-digit ratings with no real improvement rating-wise.
More Wednesday dramas joined the spring season. 'TEAM' starring Ozawa Yukiyoshi had it difficult on TV Asahi due to a popular special on TBS at the same time and only recorded a rating of 9.1%. However, the special gradually lost viewers and so NTV took over at 10pm with their drama 'Hanasaki Mai ga Damattenai' starring Anne and an amazing rating of 17.2%, which is the highest drama rating so far this season. Of course this wasn't good news for Fuji TV's 'SMOKING GUN' that airs at the same time, which ended up losing a big share of 3.1% and dropped down to 7.2%.
The Thursday prime time started with a surprise, because the 1st episode of TV Asahi's 'Keiji 110 Kilo Season 2' starring Ishizuka Hidehiko didn't manage to pull off a double-digit rating. Its 1st season did really well, but its 2nd season only started with a 9.7% rating. Meanwhile, 'MOZU Season 1' keeps doing well on TBS and recorded a rating of 12.8% (-0.5). No changes for 'BORDER' on TV Asahi as well.
Fuji TV achieved a very good start with their drama 'Saigokara Nibanme no Koi Season 2' starring Nakai Kiichi and Koizumi Kyoko as it recorded 14.0%. The highest rating throughout its 1st season was 13.6%, so it's actually a little surprising it did better right off the bat.
