"Bakuman" is a manga written by Ohba Tsugumi and illustrated by Obata Takeshi, the same pair that created manga "Death Note". It was serialized on Weekly Shonen Jump during 2008 ~ 2012, and was also adapted into anime series for three seasons during 2010 ~ 2013. 

The story revolves around 2 high school students, Mashiro Moritaka who has a great drawing ability, and Takagi Akito who has an intellectual ability and wants to be a manga writer. One day, Akito asks Moritaka to become a manga artist for his stories, and together, the two aim to make their dream of getting their manga serialized on Weekly Shonen Jump come true. Moritaka, is played by Sato, while Kamiki plays the other protagonist, Akito.

Kamiki commented, "This is my favorite manga that I read until it became scuffed, so I am truly happy." Sato also said, "I will do my best to be able to show the history, reality, and wonderfulness of Japanese manga and Japanimation to the people all over the world."

The film adaptation will be directed by One Hitoshi ("Moteki"), and it's set to open in theaters in 2015.
