On March 11, AKB48 group member who have been visiting the disaster area once every month since May of 2011, visited the disaster area, and prayed for a full recovery.
On the day, 48 members were divided into groups of 8, and visited 6 locations; Miyako and Kamaishi in Iwate, Ishinomaki and Minamisanriku in Miyagi, and Minamisoma and Soma in Fukushima, and held a mini live concert at each location.
Also, there were special performances held at the groups' 4 domestic theaters (52 members at AKB48 theater, 50 members at SKE48 theater, 53 members at NMB48 theater, and 40 members at HKT48 theater).
The 10 locations were connected by relay, and a total of 243 girls performed their restoration support song "Tenohira ga Katarukoto" altogether, and at 2:46 pm when the earthquake occurred, they observed a moment of silence for the victims.
In the end, Watanabe Mayu who participated the special performance at AKB48 theater, stated on behalf of the members, "I believe that we can bring energy and smile to the people in the disaster area by singing and dancing. We will continue our best effort at supporting activities."
