Idol group HKT48's fifth single "12 Byou", which was released on April 22, topped Oricon's latest weekly ranking. The first week sales for this single was 277,916 copies, which marked the group's highest sales for the release week.
HKT48 have been the record holder for the number of consecutive chart-topping singles since debut (for female artist), but their fifth one topped the chart again, renewing their own record to 5 consecutive singles.
Kodama Haruka (18) and Miyawaki Sakura (17) served as the double center for "12 Byou." Miyawaki commented, "I was worrying everyday whether our (consecutive No.1) record would stop with this single, but now I hear that it topped the chart. To all of you fans, thank you very much."
