It's been reported that actor Sakai Masato (41) and actress Kanno Miho (37) are expecting their first child.

Through her agency, Kanno announced, "At this time, I have been blessed with a new life. My husband and I are both very excited to welcome a new family member." Sakai also reported, "A new member will be added to the family this fall." 

On becoming a father, Sakai said, "They say that a child is a gift from the heavens, but I will live with this new life as if God has 'entrusted' me with it." He added, "I will do my best in order to become a better actor. It would make me happy if you would watch over my family warmly."

Meanwhile, Kanno expressed, "I hope to quietly prepare myself for childbirth this fall." Regarding her future activities, she stated, "I hope to continue [my activities] while taking care of my health and consulting with the people around me. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who supports me and to the persons concerned who understand and cooperate with me." 

Sakai and Kanno tied the knot in April of 2013.
