On May 23, singer May J. debuted her new haircut on Instagram. 

May J., who is known for her long hair, shared that this is the shortest her hair has been in her life. "Until now, I told myself that it's not me if I don't have long hair, but I am not so particular anymore. This is the last surprise of my twenties. I will be 30 next month on June 20. Here's to new challenges," she said.

The singer decided to chop off her hair for the jacket shoot for her upcoming cover album "Cinema Song Covers" (July release). For this album, she will be covering theme songs from notable films. A lover of movie songs, May J. expressed, "Ever since I started aiming to become a singer, there have been many famous songs that I've sung. There are also many songs I love that I haven't sung at lives yet. This is why I decided to release this album."
