On March 9, former Takarazuka Revue top star Nono Sumika (32) updated her Instagram account announcing her first pregnancy. She is due towards the end of August. 

Nono announced, "I have an announcement to everyone who supports me and takes care of me. It's a personal matter, but at this time, I have been blessed with a child." She continued, "A new life dwelling inside of another human being. It's mysterious, but I feel very secure. I will probably learn so much from this new life. I hope to spend my time carefully." 

Nono shared that she has entered her stable period, "My physical condition has finally started to become stable. I am due in late-August and plan to work within my limits. Recently, you may have seen me a lot on TV and in magazines, but none of these were taken during the early stages of my pregnancy. If there is anybody worrying about my health, please rest assured that I am not overdoing myself."

Nono had to cancel her 'thank you day' live event which was scheduled for March 9. On this, she apologized, "I am sorry that I wasn't able to properly explain myself before." She added, "I was confused at this situation in which I couldn't control my body and mind. As such, I was unable to prepare for it the way I wanted to. I quit because I felt that I couldn't appear in front of everyone in such condition. I am a coward. But inside, I think it was good that I became a coward."

Finally, she stated, "I believe pregnancy and childbirth will bring so many changes, but that will become my food as I aim to polish 'Nono Sumika.' I hope I will be able to stand in front of everyone again to report something. I am spending each day with grateful feelings for everyone involved. It would make me happy if you would continue to watch over me. As the seasons change, please take care of yourself."
