On March 30, comedian Yanagihara Kanako (33) updated her official blog and announced her first pregnancy. 

Yanagihara wrote, "It's a personal matter, but at this time, I have been blessed with a child. I am just about to enter my stable period, but I would like to make this announcement now. My morning sickness has been really bad, and I have been in poor condition, which has caused me to take a break from my programs. To my fans that support me and the program staff, I am very sorry to have worried you."

She continued, "After discussion with my agency, I have decided to prioritize my baby and put my job on hold. I am sincerely sorry to cause trouble."

Finally, she stated, "I plan to prepare myself both mentally and physically so that my baby can grow and be born healthily. I ask for your understanding and warm support."

On February 5, Yanagihara made a live appearance on Fuji TV's 'Viking' where she announced that she got married on February 4 to a non-celebrity man.
