Actress Sawajiri Erika, who was arrested last month on suspicion of possessing the synthetic drug MDMA, released a statement via her agency Avex Management on December 6.
First, Sawajiri apologized, "At this time, I would like to sincerely apologize to my fans and persons concerned for the trouble and worries I have caused. From the bottom of my heart, I feel regretful for betraying many people."
She continued, "I promise to cut myself off of synthetic drugs and work with a specialist to recover. As a first step, I am heading to a medical institution today to get examined. I ask for your understanding and pardon that I am apologizing in writing."
