On May 23, women's professional wrestling promotion Stardom announced the death of Kimura Hana. She was 22 years old.
Stardom wrote on their homepage, "Wrestler Kimura Hana passed away today, May 23. We apologize to fans and persons concerned for the worry and grief caused by this sudden announcement. We still haven't grasped the situation as the details [on her death] are still being investigated."
Hana's final Twitter and Instagram posts indicate that she claimed her own life as a result of cyberbullying.
According to investigations, a note saying "toxic gas in use" was posted on the door to Hana's apartment. She was found on her bed with a plastic bag over her head. In her room, a container emitting toxic gas was discovered, as well as suicide notes with messages such as, "I'm sorry mom. Thank you for giving birth to me..." She was transported to a hospital where her death was confirmed.
Hana was also a current member of the reality TV show 'Terrace House.' Our sincere condolences go out to her family and friends at this time.
