All members of visual kei band Jack Caper test positive for coronavirus

TH STAFF

On July 22nd, visual kei band Jack Caper announced on their official website that all five members have tested positive for COVID-19.

The band held concerts on July 8th and 12th at Tokyo's Takadanobaba. On the 17th, vocalist Hiro was confirmed to have coronavirus, then on the 19th drummer Shuma's PCR test came back positive.

Then on the 20th, guitarist Riku revealed via YouTube that he had lost his sense of taste and smell. Both Riku and guitarist Choco's PCR test came back positive on the 21st, then bassist YG's on the 22nd.

The band was being highly conscious to prevent the coronavirus spread, even handing out masks this April in Shibuya. Their concerts also followed the guidelines enforced by the government. They used vinyl sheets on stage and in between seats, had temperature checks and a questionnaire for the guests, disinfected regularly, and wore masks. The fans who attended their lives are not considered to be persons of close contact.

Sources say that they believe the entire band contracted the virus due to sharing makeup tools or having dinner together after their concerts.
