On August 13th, talent management Ken-On announced that actor Uesugi Shuhei (28) has been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus.
Ken-On's official website explains, "On the morning of August 9th, he took his temperature after feeling fatigued. As he recorded a fever of 38.6℃ (101.48°F), he received an antibody test and a PCR test at a medical institution. While the antibody test was negative, he stayed at home avoiding contact with others to be safe."
They continued, "On the 10th, his fever came down to 36.8℃ (98.24°F), but just to be sure, he took the antigen test on the 11th, which came back positive. The result of the PCR test isn't back yet, but according to the health center, he was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus after consultation with medical institutions and the antigen test showed positive."
On his current condition, they commented, "His temperature has returned to normal, and he is in good condition. He has been recuperating at home after examination at the medical institution."
