On August 27th, Ohta Production announced that talent Tsuruno Takeshi (45) has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. 

Their official website states, "We have received word that our Tsuruno Takeshi received a positive result for the PCR test." They explained, "On August 21st, he had a fever so he took the PCR test. It came back negative, but he still had cold-like symptoms. He continued to have a cough, so he took the PCR test again on the 25th, and yesterday [26th], the results came back positive."

Tsuruno had written on Instagram on the 25th that he had cancelled a few of his jobs because he was sick. "Actually, I suddenly came down with a high fever and cough about four days ago. I thought, what if?! [it's COVID-19], so I contacted the health center. They sent me to a hospital where they examined me. Both the flu test and PCR test were negative. The result was 'summer cold.' Such bad timing," he said. Currently, he is hospitalized and receiving treatment for the illness.
