9nine, who is currently on hiatus, held an online special event titled 'Thank you Fan9 ~Re:lation~' on September 9. During the event, the group announced that they would be resuming their activities online.
The event was held as 9nine wanted to thank their fans and value their "ties" especially during these difficult times caused by the novel coronavirus. They kicked off with an acoustic version of their sixth single "SHINING ☆ STAR," then talked about what they've been up to recently and read comments sent by their fans.
Next, the group asked some questions to their fans and sang "Wonderful World", which is a popular song among fans.
As the main part of this event, 9nine held a live telephone call with nine people who have some kind of connection to them. The members had no idea who they would be talking to until the day of the event. They talked to various staff members that they've worked with over the years, and one of their moms even spoke on the phone.
At the end of the event, they performed their new song "Kaerubeki Basho." Murata Hirona wrote the song based on the words that they collected from their fans during a SHOWROOM event back in May.
