Berryz Kobo member Sugaya Risako has announced the birth of her second child.

On September 23, Sugaya updated her Instagram account, saying, "Welcome, baby 2020.9.17 (Thu). I gave birth to my second child, a health baby girl. Due to the influence of the coronavirus, no one could witness the childbirth. Although I was anxious, I am thankful to my midwife who encouraged me till the end and to my baby who did her best with me for 17 hours."

She continued, "My new lifestyle has started, so slowly and little by little, I will do my best with the help of my family. It would make me happy if you would watch over me warmly."

In October of 2017, Sugaya announced her marriage to a non-celebrity man as well as her pregnancy. She gave birth to her first daughter in March of 2018.
