On September 24th, Johnny’s & Associates announced that Kanjani8 member Okura Tadayoshi has tested positive for COVID-19.
Johnny’s reported, “On the night of the 20th, he felt fatigued, but didn’t have a fever so he was self-monitoring. Then on the morning of the 21st, he had a slight fever of 37.5°C (99.5°F) so he took the PCR test. On the 23rd, he was confirmed positive.” Reportedly, the Department of Health will be following up with him ten days after the date of onset (20th).
Fellow member Maruyama Ryuhei and one manager were considered to be persons of close contact, but both were negative after getting tested on the 23rd. However, as they were persons of close contact, they will be in quarantine for two weeks.
Meanwhile, the other members Murakami Shingo, Yokoyama Yu, and Yasuda Shota tested negative as well, and because they were not considered to be persons of close contact, they will be continuing their activities as scheduled.
Since his first symptoms appeared, Okura has not visited the agency office nor any related places, so the agency’s talents and employees will continue their work as planned while doing their best to prevent the spread of infection.
