It's been announced that Shonentai's Nishikiori Kazukiyo and Uekusa Katsuhide will be leaving Johnny's & Associates on December 31. 

Shonentai is a three-person unit comprised of Nishikiori, Higashiyama Noriyuki, and Uekusa. After making their debut with the single "Kamen Budokai" in December of 1985, the unit has been active for 35 years. The agency commented, "Especially during these times when the environment is unstable, it has been difficult to continue polishing and challenging them. However, Shonentai's performance that has been cultivated from their efforts to overcome these times will continue to be passed down to their kohai (juniors)." They continued, "Thanks to Shonentai, Johnny's & Associates have been able to experience new challenges, and those experiences have made the Johnny's Group that exists today." While the two have no plans to be active in Shonentai after leaving Johnny's, they want to "leave Shonentai as is," so Shonentai will remain listed under Johnny's. 

On their debut anniversary day, December 12, Shonentai will release their best-of album "Shonentai 35th Anniversary BEST" and a DVD box set featuring their stage play 'PLAYZONE.' The album will include their singles, songs they've sung in 'PLAYZONE,' solo numbers, and unreleased tracks. The tracklist can be seen below.
