Sonar Pocket have announced that they will release a new album and hold a nationwide tour in 2021.
The band made this announcement on September 3 during their program on Nico Nico Namahousou. On the program, MC Hoshino Takuya and the 3 members shared memories and episodes while watching past live performances. During the second half of the program, they were gifted a birthday cake from the staff to celebrate their 12th anniversary.
The upcoming album that's scheduled to drop next February comes about 2 years and 4 months since the release of their last album "flower." It will include "Mou Chokusetsu Iu Koto wa Dekinaikara, Koushite Uta ni Shite Todokeyou to Shiteru." which was digitally released suddenly in March, and "Taisetsu na Hito e," which is the CM song for 'Nozaki no Corn Beef.' The group is also planning to hold an online event for those who purchase the album.
Sonar Pocket was supposed to hold a nationwide tour from March, but it was cancelled due to the widespread of the novel coronavirus. Their next tour is scheduled to kick off in spring.
