On September 15th, it was announced that actor Sugiura Taiyou (39) has tested positive for the novel coronavirus. 

Sugiura's staff wrote on his blog, "We are making this announcement as we received news that Sugiura Taiyou's PCR test result came back positive. He had a fever on September 14th, and today, we were informed that he took the PCR test and the result was positive."

On his current condition, they commented, "Although his fever has come down, he has a cough, so under instruction from the health center, he will be hospitalized to receive treatment."
